Over the past 2 decades the financing that goes to renewable energy, like solar, wind, geothermal, ocean energy and hydropower, has almost doubled to 65% whereas only 35% goes to fossils, and this trend is accelerating. China has now the highest solar capacity and Al Gore believes that the transition to clean energy is in fact unstoppable.

Al Gore is optimistic even when it is not the U.S. but China who is today’s leading force in energy transition. The Planet does not care which country leads the change towards sustainability as long as someone does π he says in an interview with TechCrunch. China is now the world’s first electro state. Also the rest of the world is moving forward albeit the U.S. at a slower pace but all solutions are existent.

One tool that has been invented by a global coalition of universities, scientists and AI experts, including Al Gore, is called Climate TRACE to address the climate crisis and the daily pollution that we are exposed to. It shows the pollution exposure in large cities and areas worldwide and is particularly useful for city and regional governments as well as climate organizers, journalists, and health advocates wherever in the world.
