What Happens Between 10 am and 5 pm

My daily summer activities stop at 10 AM, with a hike in the Calanques before that time – only if possible, they can be closed due to wildfire danger – and continue again after 5 PM when the sun is on its way to become gentle. After 5 I discover what other people have been doing. It all saves me from having to apply that sun screen on my skin 😉

On July the 9th, I arrive at the final of the 64e Mondial La Marseillaise à Pétanque, the world pétanque championship. Still too warm for me to stay in the sun for long I try to capture a game moment by lifting and pointing the camera and click. A man next to me is astonished, he can’t see a thing because of the crowd and asks me to show the photo.

On July the 14th, the National Day of France, I visit Pharo park at Vieux Port. It is after 5 and still very warm, many have gathered, waiting for the activities to take place while I decide not to wait and proceed to the coast area where there are even more sun enjoyers. Fortunately, people are not intimidated by the heatwave and go their way as usual.
