Season of Serenity

The transitions from summer into autumn into winter happen visibly. Mostly quietly. Autumn never goes unnoticed as it strikes you with a presence of color and a serene letting go of what has been. The autumnal landscape has a splendor while it is going into recess.

You never know what you’re gonna get, with this climate change. Where inland snow storms bring traffic to a standstill, elsewhere I enjoy the serenity of the true season. Some trees softly drop their leaves with less of the usual coloring while others are being more colorful than ever.

In the remote corners of mountains and forests where there is suddenly no one but only the sound of wind and water and the occasional cry of a bird, this season tells its own story, of being calm and of continuing, replenished, a new ring will set in the evergrowing tree of life.
