Marseille knows how to plan its ideal day for all. Between two rather stormy days the traffic free zone in the city, the most enticing part of the coast road, bathes in a windstill gentle sunlight. An invitation for cyclists to enjoy the full road. And that’s what the cyclists and walkers do.

No traffic noise, no traffic fumes but relaxed people enjoying a great space at the seaside. It makes you aware again how hectic our lives are and this sudden Quiet, with a capital q, is in such contrast with our daily city experience. An inspiration for creating a society of well-being.

The Equestrian Center is open again after a period of disease among the horses. Every horse is still plagued by swarms of flies at their eyes, very annoying for them, with the best horses wearing protective screens around the eyes. Classes continue, children and young adults taking up the learning of horse riding skills. A new season has begun.

After only a few days of modest rain the landscape changes for the better. The intense summer sun being replaced by the autumn sun’s gentle light. That makes for relief. My usual walks in the Calanques can happen again during normal hours as the sunlight does not burn but now only twinkles through the pine tree landscape, making it all smile.
